Internet, The Final Frontier
Welcome to the world wide web, at least my little corner of it. You might be surprised that for a blog that is related to voice over, no one is speaking to you here on this page… no Site Pal, no intro message from a bigwig corporate type or buttons that giggle when scrolled over.
For our purposes, that works out just fine though because it’s not my voice that you want to hear (in the literal, audio sense), but those of qualified professionals who make the magic happen and have the privilege of doing so for a living.
These Are the Voyages of the Star Ship Voice Over
Every time you turn around, there’s a new use for voice over on the Internet and thousands of companies using voice over for the first time to express their message via their websites.
Do you watch any programming online? You might be familiar with how commercial voice over has crept its way into free content via corporate ads during episodes of LOST, Desperate Housewives or House.
Yes, advertising is the price one pays to access free content, especially online. There’s no TiVoing these ads directed to a target audience, I tell you.
One that fascinated me in particular is the ad for tourism in Hawaii. I just love the way they say Ha-wai-i, but I digress…
Live Long and Prosper
Over time, we’ll delve into more areas within the topic of voice over for Internet and I hope you’ll join me :) You can subscribe to this blog right now if you want.
Until next time,
Stephanie
